Finding the right hairstyle

Finding the right hairstyle can take a bit of trial and error.  Hairstyles are not designed as a one size fits all.  They must be tailored to your face shape, hair type and texture.  What works for someone with thick and coarse hair will not work the same for someone with thin or thinning hair.

The first place to start with finding the right hairstyle is your face shape. To find out what your face shape is, pull all the hair off of your face. Stand in front of a mirror and trace the outline of your face with a erasable marker or bar of soap.  Stand back and look at the shape you have drawn.  What shape does it most closely resemble?

There are five basic face shapes: Oval, round, square, heart and oblong.  Most women will have a face shape that is a combination of two or more shapes.  For example, you might have a heart shape on top, but more of an oval shape on the bottom part of your face.

Stay tuned for what to do now that you know your face shape.
