Bangs and Layers Make the Long Hair Style Rock

Sick of the same old boring long hair style? There are 2 haircutting techniques that can bring your long hair style out of the dumps-- they are adding layers and bangs.

Layers are a great way to break up a bulky hairstyle. Thick, coarse hair, especially, is in need of layering to get it to lay just right.  The longer the layers, the better.  Shorter layers require more styling time and hair care products to keep them in shape. Frizzy or curly hair does not work well with shorter layers.

Bangs are the other great way to give your haircut pizzazz. If you aren't quite sure about adding them, just start with some fringe pieces around the face for a subtle look.

Celebrity Hairstyles, Sexy Short Hairstyles

The short hair style is very trendy and eye-catching. Because of the length, it isn't as versatile as a medium or long length hairstyle. The shag, short hair style, like Meg Ryan's many years ago, is making a comeback this year. The style features all over choppy layers that look like you cut your own hair.

We love Meg's tousled crop as it lets her natural wave shine through. There is minimal layering in this style and the width makes it suitable for more slender face shapes. This is a simple style to maintain and is recommended for medium to thick hair types with a natural curl or soft body wave.

Ombre -What is this Cool new trend?

When I first heard the word 'Ombre' I thought it was a mutation from the Spanish work "Hombre"- meaning Man.  If you see pictures of Ombre hair color - the expression 'Man' is very appropriate because these styles look very amazing.

The term "Ombre' is actually French and  means a graduation of color. The hair is darker at the roots and blends naturally into a lightened mid shaft and lighter ends. Many celebrities have jumped on the bandwagon for Ombre hair color. See Rachel Bilson, Hilary Duff, Ashlee Simpson, Alexa Chung and Drew Barrymore for examples of this beautiful Ombre Hair Coloring.
